Our Wildlife at Silverlake

Diverse species in Dorset

Dorset is one of the best bird spotting locations in the UK and Silverlake is no exception. The Silverlake Estate has a rich habitat made up of lakes, heathland, wetlands, woodlands and mire that is home to around 150 bird species throughout the year. Many of these beautiful birds are Red and Amber listed species of conservation concern, including Woodlark, Nightjar, Peregrine falcon and Marsh harrier. The Estate also hosts a vast range of invertebrates (including Red data book invertebrates) 62 species of bee and wasp and at least 300 species of moth.
