Our Platinum Celebrations
This year, HRH Queen Elizabeth II will become the only British monarch to reach the milestone of a Platinum Jubilee. To celebrate such a historic occasion, we would love you to join us in painting Lower Mill Estate red, white and blue (not literally)!
On Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June, we will have a host of activities for you and your family to get involved with, as well as a selection of celebratory dishes and cocktails on offer to help you to make the most of the Bank Holiday weekend.
Party in the Park
Join us at Millstone Park at the heart of Lower Mill Estate, for our Party in the Park. Indulge your sweet tooth and treat yourself to one of Ballihoo’s delicious afternoon teas. Filled with fresh sandwiches, raspberry financiers, chocolate pavé and a variety of other tasty treats and kid-friendly favourites. From £40 based on a family of 4 sharing, including hire of a picnic blanket. Why not add on a cheeky tipple to enjoy with it, a bottle of wine, a jubilee cocktail, or perhaps a pitcher of Pimm’s! If you’re looking for something more savoury, pre-order a Ballihoo picnic box. Packed full of fresh, seasonal nibbles and treats it’s ideal for enjoying at one of the many picnic spots around the wider estate.
The Queens green canopy
Nature is at the heart of everything we do, so to celebrate the Queen’s green canopy, we have chosen one of our favourite trees at Farmhouse Lake, to collect messages of hope for the future. Pop to the Activity Hub and pick up our tree of hope package for just £3. Containing a wooden tag and ribbon for you to write your message, before tying it to our tree. You’ll also receive a packet of wildflowers for you to take home and plant. Not just a great memory of your time at Lower Mill Estate, but as the wildflowers bloom, they create a fabulous feast for many species, helping them to thrive through summer.
70 miles for 70 years
Head out on the estate and make a splash on the lakes with our community Strava club! Jump on a paddle board, hop on a bike, or get a group of you in a Katakanu and record your activity on Strava. Any miles you do at both Lower Mill and Silverlake will be counted. A fun activity for both our residents and guests to see how many miles you can do over the 4-day weekend!
A Royal treat
On Saturday afternoon from 1500-1700, Ballihoo will be hosting a royal treat for your little ones, with a Corgi biscuit decorating session. Your children can let their creative side run wild as they decorate their corgi cookies, with delicious icing, sprinkles and sweets – the perfect pairing to a good British cup of tea! Tickets are £10 and include everything you need to decorate 4 pre-baked cookies. If you’ve already got a royal engagement and can’t join us, we have a take-home kit available to purchase at Ballihoo.
A Royal expedition
If you’re out and about exploring the estate, head over to the Activity Hub to pick up one of our expedition sheets for the ultimate game of eye-spy! Keep your eyes peeled to find an exciting array of wildlife, flowers and interesting items at every corner of the estate. With 70 things to see and do, the kids can have a digital detox for the whole weekend!! Take on various challenges in the playgrounds, keep your eyes peeled to see water voles and beavers, listen out for various birdsong but most of all have fun! To keep you fuelled for adventure, each participant will get some chocolate coins to enjoy – with the royal seal of approval of course!
With so much to see and do, book now to stay with us and celebrate like a Royal this June. We can’t wait to give you and your family the Royal welcome.
